Mental Health Care
The Psychiatric Hospital is geared towards facilitating community-based care empowering families and communities through education and enhancing quality of life. The objectives of the Psychiatric hospital are:
- To provide mental health services to all Barbadians
- To provide care in the least restrictive environment
- To create a physical environment which is safe and therapeutic
- To motivate staff to perform at a level to achieve the stated objectives
- To provide education for the community in an attempt to reduce stigma and recognise the early onset of mental ill health
