Mental Health Care

The Psychiatric Hospital is geared towards facilitating community-based care empowering families and communities through education and enhancing quality of life. The objectives of the Psychiatric hospital are:

• To provide mental health services to all Barbadians
• To provide care in the least restrictive environment
• To create a physical environment which is safe and therapeutic 
• To motivate staff to perform at a level to achieve the stated objectives
• To provide education for the community in an attempt to reduce stigma and recognise the early onset of mental ill health

• In service training for all categories of staff
