Traditional Chinese medicine, specifically acupuncture, is now available to Barbadians at two of the island’s polyclinics.
The People’s Republic of China, through the eighth cohort of Chinese doctors to Barbados, is offering the service in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
The first two acupuncture clinics were held last Wednesday and Thursday, at the Randal Phillips Polyclinic in Oistins, Christ Church, and the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic, Warrens, St. Michael.
The clinics will cater to members of the public every other week for two days – Wednesdays at the Randal Phillips Polyclinic and Thursdays at the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic.
Interested persons may call Randal Phillips at 536-4300 or Eunice Gibson at 536-4000 to make appointments for the acupuncture clinics and to enquire about the service, which will be available to the public from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The doctors from the Chinese Medical Team will also offer health education information through videos and talk sessions to patients in the clinic.
