Christ Church & St. Michael To Be Fogged Next Week

The Vector Control Unit will concentrate its mosquito reduction efforts in the parishes of Christ Church and St. Michael next week.

The Unit will focus on communities in Christ Church for the first two days of the week before visiting districts in St. Michael.

On Monday, January 19, the team will spray Leadvale, Rosewood Park, Leadvale No.2, Lowlands, Lowlands Heights, Sunset Drive, Golden Court, Orchid Grove, Concorde Drive, Parkview Road, and environs.

The following day, Tuesday, January 20, Edey Village, Ridgeview Estates, and surrounding areas will be fogged. There will be no fogging on Wednesday, January 21, which is a public holiday.

The Unit will resume its fogging exercise on Thursday, January 22, when it visits the following St. Michael areas: Bank Hall Main Road from its junction with Mansion Road to the junction with Bank Hall Cross Road, Barracks Road, Prince of Wales, Queen Mary, King George, King Edward, Queen Victoria, Buckingham, and Windsor Roads, 1st and 2nd Avenues Sealy Land, Sealy Land No.3, Gilkes Land Nos. 1, 2 and 3, Nurse Land and Happy Cot, and Station Hill on the left on to Powder Road.

On Friday, January 23, fogging for the week will conclude in Dr. Kerr Land, Greenidge Road, School Road, Springer Gap, Hamlet Gap, Taylor Gap, Brathwaite Gap, Dash Gap, Prescod Bottom, Mottley Land, Halls Land, Headley Land, Taylor Land, Advent Avenue, and Bank Hall Cross Road.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the spray.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
