Districts In Four Parishes To Be Fogged


The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit will conduct its mosquito reduction programme in four parishes next week.

On Monday, October 21, the Unit will visit the following districts in St. Peter: Cemetery Lane, Sweet Home Road, Mullins Terrace, Mullins Road, Gibbes Glade, Gibbes Road, Piedmont Road, and environs.

The next day, Tuesday, October 22, the team will go into various communities in St. Michael.  They are Tweedside Road (both sides), Carrington Village, Welches Road, Roberts Gap, Hinds Gap, Marlhole Gap, Railway Road, St. Hill Road, Bridge Road, Harmony Hall, Halls Road, Ellis Road, Alkins Road, Coles Road, Murrell Road, Norman Road, Quakers Road, Chadderton Road, Harrison Road, and Belmont Road.

Areas in St. James will be targeted on Wednesday, October 23, including Lower Carlton, Carlton View, Baird Road, Doughlin Road, and Crick Hill.

The Unit will venture into St. Joseph on Thursday, October 24, and spray Gaggs Hill, Hillswick Road, Phillips Road, Cleavers Hill, Bathsheba, St. Elizabeth Village, St. Elizabeth New Road, and Foster Hall.

The fogging exercise for the week will conclude in St. Peter on Friday, October 25, when the team visits Ashton Hall, Clarke’s Road, Corbin Road, The Whim, Douglas Road, Church Hill Road, Tom Bend Road, and surrounding areas.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily.  Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter.  Children should not be allowed to play in the spray.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control.  In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
