Fogging In St. George And St. Michael Next Week


Several communities in St. George and St. Michael will be targeted next week when the Vector Control Unit carries out its fogging exercise.

The team will visit districts in St. George for the first three days of the week.

On Monday, August 12, the Unit will spray Cottage Heights, Cottage Crescent, Grove Tenantry, Market Hill, Bridge Cot, Grove Cottage, Bridge Cot Terrace, Old Post Office Road, Cottage Court West, Cottage Crescent Drive, Moon Shine Close, and St. Helens.

The next day, Tuesday, August 13, Todd’s Land, Greens, Logan Road, Fairview Heights, Baird’s Village, George Holligan Road, Drax Hall, and Drax Hall Hope will be fogged.

On Wednesday, August 14, the Unit will go into Salters Main Road, Roberts Road, Monroe Road, Plum Tree Road, Dash Valley, and surrounding areas.

The following day, Thursday, August 15, the team will concentrate its efforts on districts in St. George and St. Michael, when they visit Monroe Road, Hanson Heights, Crescent Drive, Foster’s Road, Haynes Hill, Cutting Road, Pasture Road, and Mapp Hill.

The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, August 16, in Haggatt Hall, Haggatt Hall Development, Roberts Road, Sinckler Road, King Road, Bird Hill, Coral Drive and environs.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily.  Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter.  Children should not be allowed to play in the spray.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control.  In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
