Fogging Restarts In Three Parishes


The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ fogging programme will restart from next week, in three parishes.

The Vector Control Unit will carry out its mosquito reduction efforts in St. Thomas, St. James, and St. Peter.

The Unit will start in St. Thomas on Monday, October 13. It will spray Highland Vault Road, 1stt and 2nd Avenues Welchman Hall, Allan View, and environs.

It will turn its attention to St. James on Tuesday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 15.

On Tuesday, the team will go into Hibiscus Avenue, Cherry Avenue, Cemetery Lane, Mayhoe Avenue, Cordia Avenue, Flamboyant Avenue, Gardenia Avenue, Palm Avenue, Holetown, First and Second Street Holetown, and surrounding areas.

The next day, Wednesday, the unit will focus on 1st  to 6th  Avenues Durants Village, Upper Durants Village, Durants Village, Haynesville, and neighbouring districts.

On Thursday, October 16, and Friday, October 17, communities in St. Peter will be fogged.

The Unit will go into to Church Street, Gilles Road, Round the Town, Niles Road, Miller Road, Farm Road, Burma Road, and Mullins Road on Thursday.

The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday in Sand Street, Major Walk, Church Street, Godding Alley, Chapel Street, Alms Gap, Mango Lane, Porters Road, Bovell Road, and Archers Lane.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

The public is advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
