Public Health Nurses Week July 6 – 12

The contribution public health nurses make to the health and wellbeing of communities will be highlighted from Monday, July 7, to Saturday, July 12, during Public Health Nurses Week 2025.

This year’s theme Healthy Nurse, Quality Care, Healthy Nation emphasises the need for nurses to achieve a healthy work-life balance by engaging in self-care as well as caring for others.

The week will begin with a church service and media launch on Sunday, July 6, at the St. John Parish Church, Church View, St. John, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

On Monday, July 7, the Maurice Byer and Branford Taitt Polyclinics will host open days for the public from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

There will be a public outreach in Golden Square Freedom Park, Fairchild Street, The City, on Tuesday, July 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Free health checks will be offered to members of the public.

All of the island’s polyclinics, with the exception of Branford Taitt Polyclinic, will hold open days on Wednesday, July 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A Nurses Appreciation Day will be held on Friday, July 11, where nurses at each polyclinic will receive tokens from seniors. The week will conclude with an exercise session with breakfast at the Bay Street Esplanade/Browne’s Beach on Saturday, July 12.

Outside of the week, nurses will participate in a motivational breakfast where they will receive inspirational presentations that cater to their mental health.
