St. Thomas & St. George To Be Fogged Next Week


The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ fogging exercises will continue next week in St. Thomas and St. George.

The programme to eradicate the Aedes Aegypti mosquito starts in St. Thomas on Tuesday, April 22,with the team from the Vector Control Unit fogging Rock Hall Road, Rock Development, West View, Main Street, Ocean View Terrace, Sunset Drive, and environs.

On Wednesday, April 23, the team will return to St. Thomas and sprayRock Hall, Porey Springs, Dunscombe, Canefield Road, Farmers Tenantry, Farmers Housing Area, Plum Tree Road, and neighbouring districts.

The St. Thomas districts of Hillaby, Thompson Drive, Farm Path, Church Gap, Harewood Road, White Hill, Greg Farm, Turner’s Hall, and environs will be targeted on Thursday, April 24.

Fogging concludes on Friday, April 25, with a visit to the St. George districts ofBridge Cot, Market Hill, Belair, Bridge Cot Terrace, Cottage Link Road, Cottage Heights, Cottage Crescent, Grove Terrace, Grove Tenantry Road, and surrounding areas.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
