Three Schools To Be Awarded For Health-Promoting Initiatives

Three schools which participated in developing health-promoting initiatives showcasing the integration of the Barbados School Nutrition Policy (BSNP) into the school environment will be recognised by the BSNP Implementation Committee next week.

They are George Lamming Primary School, St. Giles Primary School, and The Rock Christian School. George Lamming Primary was chosen as the overall winner, with each school being awarded vouchers worth $4,000 to facilitate their proposed interventions.

A trophy presentation ceremony will be held at the George Lamming Primary School, Welches, St. Michael, on Wednesday, April 23, starting at 11:00 a.m.

This ceremony will be attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the Ministry of Educational Transformation, principals from the winning schools, PAHO representatives, and members from civil society organisations.
