Vector Control To Focus On St. James From May 5 – 9


The Vector Control Unit will concentrate its mosquito reduction programme in St. James next week.

On Monday, May 5, the Unit will visit Heleconia Drive; Wanstead Heights; Wanstead Terrace Avenues 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1; Rose Drive; Carnation Drive; Lilly Drive; Alamanda Drive; Desert Rose Drive; West Side Close; Catalina Avenue; Azalea Close; Orchid Drive; Husbands Heights; Wanstead Gardens; Husbands Terrace; Abbey Stone Drive; and environs.

The team will then go into Wanstead Terrace Avenues 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 11; West View Court; Oxnards; Cherry Drive; West Terrace North Heights; and West Terrace Gardens Nos. 1 to 16; on Tuesday, May 6.

The following day, Wednesday, May 7, the Unit will spray West Wood Close, Ricks Road, Independence Drive Avenues 1 to 9, Pelican Avenue, West Wood Park, West Wood Lane, 11th Avenue Desert Rose Ridge, Sugar Cane Avenue, Independence Close, Tulip Drive, Croton Drive, and Blue Bell Drive.

Bagatelle, Bagatelle Gardens, Redman’s Village, Kew Land, Welches, Cecelia’s Garden, and Terrace Loop will be fogged on Thursday, May 8.

The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, May 9, in Prior Park Terrace, Bagatelle Park, Hill View Circle, Halls Village, Prior Park Heights, and surrounding areas.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
