Wellness Hike Back In St. John This Month

The picturesque parish of St. John will be the venue for the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ hike on Saturday, August 24, starting promptly at 6:00 a.m. from Pool Plantation.

The hike will then move along the trail passing Sherbourne, Mount Tabor Church, and Venture.  It will proceed to Hackleton’s Cliff onto Malvern, then back to the starting point at Pool Plantation.

The estimated time for completion of the free event is two-and-a-half to three hours.

The intensity of the hike will be moderate.  However, some hiking experience or physical fitness is still required.

Persons who are not sure of their level of physical ability should consult with their medical doctor before participating.  Hikers are advised to bring sufficient drinking water and healthy snacks to stay hydrated and energised.

Participants are also advised to wear suitable clothing to protect their skin when going through bushy areas.  Appropriate, enclosed non-skid shoes should also be worn.
