NCD Commission

The National Non-Communicable Diseases Commission was launched in 2008. The mandate of the Commission is to advise the Minster of Health on NCD policies and legislation; broker involvement of all sectors in program implementation and assist in mobilization of resources to facilitate implementation of programs.

The Commission recommends relevant research; promote collaborations and partnerships; monitor regional and international trends; facilitate commissioning of audits/evaluation of NCD programs; recommends to the Minister of Health a framework that encourages and promotes behavior change to prevent NCDs.
